Credit Scoring & Credit Score Enhancement
![]() The subject of credit scoring has become an increasingly hot topic, and for good reason. For many years, the general public only associated the concept of credit scoring with the need to purchase high-ticket items such as a new car or a home. Today, credit scoring goes much further. Your credit score can affect your ability to get a good rate on commodities such as car insurance, cell phones, or even determine whether or not you get the job or promotion that you want and deserve. Indeed, the financial snapshot provided by the credit score has also become a gauge for many employers, especially those who seek to place employees in a position of management or financial responsibility. "The Wealthy Have Always Known That Bad Credit Costs You Money." Have you ever stopped to think what having bad credit or a low credit score costs? A poor credit rating can cost you thousands of dollars on a yearly basis and hundreds of thousands of dollars in a lifetime due to excessive interest charges and fees. In short, credit is the most important factor in determining your financial future. Here are two examples: (1) Auto Loan: $20,000 car paid over 60 months - a consumer with poor credit will pay an additional $8,593 for the car. (2) Home Mortgage: $200,000 Mortgage paid over 30-years - a consumer with 659 or below will pay an additional $260,000 for their home. 70% of consumers are unaware their credit can be repaired. When, in fact Congress says, "Consumers who have experienced credit problems may seek assistance from credit repair organizations, which offer to improve the standing of such consumers." (Dec. 402(a) Credit Repair Organization Act. Title IV of the Consumer Credit Protection Act [Public Law 90-321, 82 Stat.164]) The attorneys at Pacific Credit Recovery (a division of Capital Credit Enhancement Group) understand the consumer's rights as it pertains to the credit bureaus. From a legal persepctive, a credit report is nothing more than an allegation being made about you, and we all know that if you are accused of anything, the burden of proof lies with your accuser. As a consumer, you have the right to challenge information on a credit report that is deemed inaccurate, and that information that is not properly validated under the law must be removed whether it is accurate or not. Credit bureaus and Credit Grantors are often unwilling or unable to meet the strict requirements placed upon them to substantiate bad credit allegationsto the full extent of the law. Nearly, all the time, they fail to adhere to the legal criteria under credit reporting law or unwilling to invest resources to defend the adverse information reported, and thus the allegation is removed.
